Returning Citizens
Over 720,000 ex-prisoners or as we prefer, Returning Citizens, will be released in
the United States in 2024. On average, 10,000 state and federal prisoners will
arrive on the doorstep of every city, suburb and country community in the USA.
Studies show that approximately two-thirds of those released are likely to be re-
arrested within three years of release.
In due time, most prisoners in the US will be released. At first glance, these
statistics could seem alarming for most. However, we at Lead Strong view these
staggering numbers as motivation to make a real difference. Creating leaders
while breaking barriers.
#1: Mind Set/ How Bad Do You Want It
We travel to hundreds of prisons across the country with a unique motivational
message that empowers soon to be returning citizens who want more for
themselves and their families. Several of our motivational speakers once lived in
both a physical prison and the prison of captive thoughts. Today, they are
business owners, ministers, CEO’s, viable citizens and pillars in their respected
communities. Coming home and staying home from prison is not a task, it’s a
choice to make consistent choices. The question is not if there is a better life for
one in the free world, the real question is how bad do you want it and what are
you willing to go through to get it?
Our prison program begins by sparking the mindset of not just a prisoner known
as a number but the individuals that are also known as mommy and daddy by
their children. Once one has aligned their mindset, they are now in position to
acquire all the tools needed to construct a solid future for themselves and their
families.
#2 USE, tools
A tool is anything that is used to make a change to something else or to help do a
job. For thousands of years the use of tools has permitted humans to control their
environment and to improve their conditions. Lead Strong assists returning
citizens to tap into, cultivate, and acquire a fresh set of tools that they may
construct a solid future structured on a firm foundation.
